Sitting at the dining room table, we're having a lively conversation about soccer.. Some cardinals that were at the bank and playing kickball at the park.
The kids think dinner is great! Steak, potatoes, carrots and ranch dressing, sautéed mushrooms and fresh cut strawberries.
We start talking about mushrooms... Mushrooms on our pizza, mushrooms on our steak and in salad. Hailey says "I love mushrooms"! Oh good, I did something right!
Conversation turns to the health notice we received today. Lice! Now that is fun. A little girl in the kids class has them, so they were all checked today... Mine are bug free at the moment, thank goodness. Everything is currently in the washer and dryer on the hottest setting. Bedrooms are getting vacuumed before bed in my attempt to keep them bug free. Please pray for us!
Then we switch gears... I know about a field trip to the symphony... The kids were invited to another birthday party, one a week it seems like... We love talking to the kids, they make us laugh.
Finally our conversation makes a perfect circle as we head into that part of dinner time where you have to remind your kids to eat, one more bite, eat your carrots... You know... And that's when he says "it" - Blog about that!
Daddy to our dear daughter - "eat one more mushroom."
Dear daughter - "Daddy, I don't like mushrooms."
Mommy - "but honey, you told us at the beginning of dinner that you love mushrooms!"
Dear daughter - "the white kind mom!"
Mommy - "well that's funny that you would change so quickly!"
To which the boy joins in the conversation with... "Ya mom, that is funny! You should blog about that!"
Ha! So there you have it... Family dinner at our home.
