Awaken a Lioness... the first chapter of the book.
My lioness was never asleep rather simply undefined. I have always felt an inner calling to strength, determination and a bigger purpose... but I am a girl meant to be a help-mate, submissive, etc. I know how that sounds, especially to my sisters who have ovaries of steel, you know who you are. Trust me, I buck the system every chance I get... not out of defiance rather, I know - without a shadow of a doubt who God created me to be.
In her book, Lisa reveals the workings of a lioness individually and within her pride. She details out "the reason why a lioness arises from her leisurely repose in the African sun":
She rises to gather strength
She rises to greet and groom others
She rises to hunt
She rises alongside other lionesses
She rises to move young to safety
She rises to confront enemies that threaten the pride
She rises to walk with her King

A great force... deeper in this book was the following paragraph-
God did not save you to tame you. God does not reveal himself as limitless in order to limit us. Quite the contrary. He wants to put his heart within us... God is not looking for people who act like Christians. He wants us to BE Christians.
The word Christian means anointed or '"Christlike one". Jesus did not go around "being good"; he went around "doing good" and releasing all who were oppressed. What has he anointed you to do?
Her question... What has he anointed you to do - was turned back around on me. No more hesitation, no more fear... be who God has made you to be. Her book dives into our relationships as women... both as friends, as members of our churches and in the business world. Somewhere along the way we forgot how to work with each other - not so within a pride. Everyone has a job and does it well. They form a fierce alliance all for the betterment of the pride...
